UNO- UNITED NATIONS ORGANISATION - General knowledge facts

When the world war II was going on the Allied powers had felt the necessity for forming a United Nations
Organisation. The talks were held at Dumbarton Oaks, Washington D.C.from August 21 to October7, 1944, which was finally put to concrete shape by the delegates of 50 Allied Nations assembled at San Francisco from April 26 to June 26, 1945.

Objectives: The U.N as an organisation of nations who have voluntarily joined together to work for world

peace, the objectives and purposes of the U.N.
1. To maintain peace and security in the world.
2. To develop friendly relations among nations.
3. Erase poverty, disease and illiteracy from the world.
4. To be a centre for helping the nations to achieve these goals
